Sister Peg Dolan will have Loyola Marymount University's Campus Ministry Center and Program Endowed in Her Name Sister Bernadette Kenny Received Award for Compassion and Service April 27, 2008 Centro Corazon de Maria was chosen as a recipient of this year’s awards given for service that has benefitted the Hispanic communities of the South Fork of Eastern Long Island. Sister Mary Leah Plante lives in Montebello, California and has taken up a new hobby! Sister Virginia Joseph lives in Los Angeles, California and teaches literacy and citizenship to Latino men and women. Sister Maria Timoney is a lawyer with the Southwest Virginia Legal Aid Society in Marion, Virginia Sister Kathleen Joyce lives in Montebello, California and ministers with the sisters in Casa Guadalupe. Sister Margaret Ellen O'Connell lives in Los Angeles and is a member of the pastoral care team at Daniel Freeman Memorial Hospital. Sister Teresita Carrillo lives in Los Angeles and works at the Los Angeles Ministry Program (LAMP). Sister Marilyn Ficht lives in Los Angeles and teaches math at Verbum Dei High School. Sister Frances Gussenhoven lives in Los Angeles, California and works at the Center for Ignatian Spirituality. Sister Joan Mary Moore lives in Van Nuys, California and works at Good Shepherd Center for Homeless Women in Los Angeles, California. The Cormaria Community live in Sag Harbor, New York and give life to retreatants and to persons seeking God in their lives. Sister Clevie Youngblood, who lives in the Bronx, teaches religious studies at Marymount School of New York. Sister Lynne Jacoby, who lives in Florham Park, New Jersey, is a pastoral associate at St. Margaret's Parish in Morristown, New Jersey. Sister Letizia Pappalardo, who lives in Rome, Italy, tries to help alleviate the problem of the trafficking of women. Sister Alice Melchior Biegen, who lives in Manhattan, tries to provide permanent housing for the homeless at Columba House. Sister Ellen Marie Keane, who lives in Tarrytown, New York, teaches philosophy at Bedford Hills Prison for women. Sister Marcella Tyson, who lives in the Bronx, works with a program to help those who are hungry and/or homeless. Sister Margarita Cardenas, who lives in Manhattan, works with victims of AIDS. Sister Frances Lane, who lives in Sag Harbor, NY shares her experience of empowering the Hampton Bays Latino Community. Sister Dorothy Bartels, who lives in California, shares her experience of Nuestros Pequenos Hermanos. Sister Maria Mercedes Gomes, who lives in Tarrytown, NY, shares her experience of journeying from Boyaca, Colombia, where she was born. Sister Kathleen Kanet, who lives in New York City, shares her experience with "Youth Practicing Democracy". Sister Bridget Mary Fitzgerald, who lives in Marymount Convent, Tarrytown, NY, shares her reflections on books. Sister Dympna Haber shares her reflections on life with the frail elderly at Marymount Convent.. Sister Ellen Browne, who lives in Los Angeles, shares her experience of "Bus Ministry". Sister Miriam Tiburcio, who lives in Los Angeles, shares her reflections on her recent spiritual journey. Sister Bernadette Crook is an artist and art lecturer who has recently celebrated her golden jubilee. Sister Elizabeth Meehan studied Spanish in Mexico and experienced the works of the RSHM in Cuernavaca and Amacuzac.. Sister Maria Teresa Piras works with refugees at Centro Astalli in Rome, Italy. Sister Genevieve Underwood is a designer of stained glass windows in California. Sister. Margaret Ann Landry is a Catholic Campus Minster at the State University of New York at Stony Brook.
